Anniversaries...

Things that I still celebrate are the things, dates, and events that were special. Birthdays, specific holidays, and anniversaries. I even still say happy anniversary to his parents. They have been gone a long time, but those dates matter.

Today marks the day that we would have been married 25 years. Our 25th wedding anniversary.

August 20th, 1999. We hopped a plane to Vegas. His grandpa and aunt were there to greet us at the luggage pick up…I am smiling remembering when our friends and family could walk us to the door of the plane to say their goodbyes. Life sure has changed over the years. So I celebrate what was, while still moving in these new times.

It’s weird though. As a widow do I save “happy heavenly anniversary?” The things that I never wondered about keep me confused. What do widows do?

Anywho, my quest for 50 days of fun has taken me on another place we promised to visit…Alaska!

Dear Darryl, I celebrate our 25th and acknowledge the spirit of travel you left in the kids and I. Continue to watch over us and guide us. I am happy for all the years we spent together. I am continuing this journey with you in my heart 💔 Reminded of the conversations we had about you wanting me to be happy.

I am both sad and happy. Sad that I lost you, happy that after all that we endured I am still able to live, laugh, and love.

Until we meet again ❤️‍🩹 Happy Anniversary
