Personal and private discussions

I have a close friend that I say extra prayers for during this election season. She had a very difficult loss of her unborn child. I didn’t know her when it happened and years after it happened, she told me the story with such pain that I could tell it was still fresh in her heart.

These politicians and these smear campaigns have taken the heart out of real life issues.

How did we get to the point that very private and personal issues are being argued and bargained for like it’s an old used car? When did we lose our empathy and compassion for one another?

I hurt for my friend.

I hurt for people that have been placed in difficult situations that have to make difficult choices in private and deal with the uncertainty and consequences of their choices. That is a personal and private struggle.

We live in very strange times.
