Chicago - Moments

Yesterday we loaded up and headed to Chicago for a long weekend with my family. We were all driving in to meet for an impromptu family reunion. The plan was to support my nephew in his basketball tournaments and celebrate my brother’s birthday.

DT and I arrived first. We checked in and ventured out in the city. I wheeled him down the “Magnificent Mile" window shopping and people watching. We dipped into an Italian restaurant and had a nice lunch. We were without incident save for a few times I almost flipped him out of the wheelchair. 😂 I didnt realize there were potholes in the side walk.😬 We had so much fun🥰

The rest of the family arrived and we hung out for appetizers and laughs. The food was amazing. And DT was in true DT form, talking stuff and smiling. He and my mom have the best “in law” relationship. I love when we all get together.

Anyway, life changes quickly. We went back to the room and he got sick. He didnt sleep all night and neither did I.

I woke up this morning and headed home.

One thing I’ve learned in this journey is that you have to appreciate the good times. Bad things come unexpectedly and we are defenseless against the changes.

Cherish the moments. All of them.

I am grateful for my good moments in Chicago.

Life is good 💜
